Description

This week we head just back around the corner to 2018 where "Mortal Engines" plunges us into a post-apocalyptic world powered by giant mobile cities (and features Martyn playing a 'Gutworker'). "Mid90's" depicts a teen's coming-of-age story amidst 90s skate culture. In "The Breakerupers," two cynical women run a business breaking up couples. "The Green Book" navigates racial tensions in the American South during a tour between an African-American pianist and his Italian-American driver. Musically, we seemed to have a real soul theme going with Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa's "Black Coffee," Childish Gambino's thought-provoking style, Nathaniel Rateliff's vintage rhythm and blues, and Leon Bridges' retro soul and R&B. A real journey. Enjoy!
