Description

I'd like to welcome Kaitlynn to the show, today!
We had a very engaging conversation about some great topics (listed below).

She shared some very effective strategy for navigating/redefining family events that involve alcohol.

A little bit about her:
"Kaitlynn is a confidence and goal setting coach. After years of struggling with her own confidence and consistency, Kaitlynn was able to recreate her identity. A big part of her healing including breaking generational drinking patterns and living an alcohol-free life. Now Kaitlynn uses her newfound power to help others heal their own addictions and past traumas, learn to love themselves, achieve their goals, and create a life they truly love."

Topics include:
- being extremely shy growing up
- alcohol being present in her life since as long as she can remember (in varying degrees)
- her first drink was while age 18
- she started to work in the restaurant industry which started ramping up the alcohol use

- using alcohol as a numbing agent, to turn the voice down in her head
- going to college and finding the culture and social life very hand-in-hand with alcohol
- the first "whoa!" moments when she noticed how far off her actions were from that shy kid she once was

- getting into restaurant upper management at age 24
- the job turning into a lot of late nights, drinking alone after shift
- getting a personal trainer
- wedding plans being postponed due to COVID (2020)

- Dec 2020 being hospitalized, voluntarily, for mental reasons
- 6 months sober coming out of hospital, then went back to drinking
- navigating family/generational drinking
- what 'balance' and 'authentic' now mean to her

Loved this conversation!! Thanks Kaitlynn!!
