In 1978, the Women's Bank, one of the first banks in the country run entirely by women, opened its doors in Denver. Today it is known as the Colorado Business Bank.
Note: While the original Equal Credit Opportunity Act that was passed in 1974 prohibited sex-based discrimination, the law was amended in 1976 to prohibit discrimination based on religion, color, and age, among other factors.
