Vitiligo is a chronic skin disorder that causes white patches of skin to appear on different parts of the body including the mouth, hair and eyes. It is an auto immune disease in which your immune system attacks your body parts.
It is caused by the lack of a pigment called melanin in the skin which is produced by skin cells called melanocytes and it is responsible for giving colour to the skin. Vitiligo occurs when these pigment producing cells stop functioning properly.
The white patches usually got bigger with time. This disease can affect people of all skin types and it not a contagious disease or dangerous in any way. Sometimes this discolored skin stop growing on its own but this is also possible that it can also spread to various parts of the body.
This disease can further produce the risk of eye problems and even hearing loss as the inner part of your ear contains melanocytes. Hair on your head turn gray or develop a white streak also. If the body continues to attack melanocytes, the patches keep growing and new patches start appearing in other areas also.
Increased stress level due to the thoughts which continuously keep running in the mind decreases the quality of your life and become reason of various diseases and vitiligo is also one of them.
Consult your physician on regular basis and follow all the guidelines properly. Though it can not be cured fully but no one can help you to overcome these challenges until you are willing as your consent is the only factor that will make you determined during the process.
When you actually learn to control your negative emotions that are responsible for the diseases which makes you suffer at all levels only then it is possible for you to make the desired changes in your life.
