China plays a critical role in the Green Energy Transition as a primary supplier of solar panels and batteries. Despite China's pledge towards net zero, its actions speak much louder than its promises. For example, China fast-tracked 106 gigawatts of coal-fired power capacity this year, the highest rate since 2015.
An Italian researcher discovered that China uses coal-burning facilities to make 80 percent of the world's solar panels. Even more disturbing, these panels are made by Uighur Muslims in forced labor camps.
On today's show, Dr. Katherine Johnson will explore how China's actions undermine the green energy transition. Please join our discussion at 11 a.m. Eastern Live on Wednesday to share your thoughts by calling 866-451-1451 or send your comments to kjohnson@johnsonconsults.com
