The Bible doesn’t call us to be submissive to the world, it calls us to be submissive to God. Too many people confuse the definition of meekness to mean that we must always submit to and quietly accept the current norms of the culture and whatever the world dictates. As Christians, we must understand that there are times where we must confront the culture and boldly proclaim truth and righteousness in love.
