Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Blessed are they, in this world and the hereafter, who are with the Shepherds - Saintly Guides who inherit the Ways of Holy Prophetﷺ.
Our Guide, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adil Ar-Rabbani (qas), together with all the Grandshaykhs of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain, are such ones, divinely granted the Jazbah (immense spiritual power) to guide and keep their (qas) followers on the right path.
Followers in this Way seek to become cleansed from the dirtiness of sin and bad behaviour.
Our Grandshaykh Abdullah Faiz Daghestani (ق) said that, “Mankind’s dirtiness comes from fighting with Allah.”
Fighting. This is the keyword.
For as long as one is still in obedience to the egoistic-self, fighting Allah’s ﷻ Will, one is in disobedience to Allah ﷻ.
After some time through this journey in Tariqah, some give up and fall out of the Way.
Why do people fall out?
Because they feel burdened by the spiritual devotions and practices.
Shaykh Bahauddin said, “Don’t aim so high!”
Do a little and do it every day. Giving ten cents a day is easier than giving a thousand dollars just once, in charity.
The key is istiqomah. To attain a comfortable level of steadfastness in worshipping.
As one would be uncomfortable wearing clothing that does not fit well, so too would one feel uncomfortable when taking on too much of the spiritual dressings, daily devotions and practices, at the beginning.
Start simple, start small and keep going.
It is beloved by Allah ﷻ to See His ﷻ servant doing a little everyday, than doing nothing at all and missing out on the immense benefits of the daily wazifa.
Don’t overburden yourself, give up and then fall into detrimental old ways. Do what is comfortable and maintain a baseline of minimum devotions daily.
Remember that Iblis alayhi laqnat is working to have as many people in the right path fall out and run away from it. Be careful! Ignore the satanic whispers and strive to leave the bad ways and behaviour.
Mawlana also emphasised never to justify our bad actions, intentions or thoughts. Never announce your sins, he said, for fear that we would eventually become shameless about the sins we commit.
Be hopeful and return to your Lord ﷻ in sincere repentance.
“The Happiness of Allah Almighty upon Seeing a sinner repenting is much more than the joy of a lone traveller who finds his missing camel, together with all the provisions of the journey, in a dark night.”
-Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (qas)
Never lose hope in the Mercy of Allah ﷻ as He ﷻ Helps the one who sincerely repents and begs for help every time he/she falls back into sin.
Allah ﷻ Says in the Holy Quran:
اَلَا تُحِبُّوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّغۡفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَـكُمۡ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ
“Would you not love for Allah to forgive you? Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(Quran 24:22)
The children of Adam alayhi salam are always in sin and Allah ﷻ Wants for us to be clean ones. So, seek forgiveness from the Ever Forgiving, each night before going to sleep and ask to be granted purity, never fighting His ﷻ Will.
May Allah ﷻ grant us istiqomah (steadfastness), repentance, cleanliness from our dirtiness and for us to be from the pure ones who are raised as Ahlul Quran on the Day of Judgement.
