Description

Do you ever take the time to look up at a starry night and think about the very large numbers of planets that orbit the very large numbers of suns that you’re seeing? It’s very likely that most astronomers do that because it’s part of their job. On this week’s “Edge of Reality Radio,” Astronomer Marc Dantonio visits to fill us in on things happening in the universe that don’t always make the evening news. From incredible galaxy clusters snapped by both Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes to a rare alignment of five planets in our solar system; two big Supermoons that came and went; a startling image of an all-purple galaxy; two very close calls Earth had with skyscraper-sized asteroids; and how soon will we all be able to see the supernova explosion of the star known as Betelgeuse?
