Description

Continuing our "Storytime with Maceo," we read one of Maceo's FAVORITE books, Playing at the Border: A Story of Yo-Yo Ma. It is written by Joanna Ho, illustrated by Teresa Martinez. It is a wonderful story of cellist Yo-Yo Ma's efforts to build bridges between people and countries, to draw out empathy and compassion for others in times of ethnic and political strife. It is beautifully written, with lyrical phrasing and poetry that lifts off the page, and illustrations that capture the heart and not let it go.
