El colombiano Nairo Quintana conseguiría en el 2010 su primer título en Europa. El boyacense se convertía para ese entonces en el 3er colombiano en ganar esa carrera. Alfonso Flórez y Martín Ramirez ya lo habían conseguido previamente.
