There’s a growing trend towards establishing a career path before considering starting a family, but this is not right for everyone and traditionally was not so prevalent.
Our guest today began her fertility journey and became a mum in her early 20s, but not without many struggles – not least polycystic ovaries - and the devastation of miscarriage.
Adding to Elizabeth Cowper’s story is that this was twenty years ago when fertility was not a topic that was talked about openly (even less so that today!) especially in the workplace.
That led to Elizabeth, an HR professional who was working in recruitment at the time of her first IVF cycle, to hide what she was going through, fearful that it may harm her career prospects and “embarrassed” by her infertility.
