I'm sitting on my patio today with the rain coming down. It is glorious. I wanna kinda continue the lesson from my horrible, horrible golf game because it taught me so much. A bad day for the ego is a great day for the soul, because when everything in life is just blowing along for us and everything's working out, we don't usually learn a lot of lessons. We just really don't. But when we're having a bad day or when our day isn't going quite right, we have to dig deep and go, Hey, when did I miss?
What thing in my life am I missing? You know? And maybe it's just a bad golf game. Or maybe it's got a lesson in it for me. For me, it was a lesson. The lesson was that I wasn't doing the things I always do that week. I did not write my gratitude list. I did not read and study every day. I didn't do it. And it penetrated everything else. So I know that renewing of my mind and renewing of my spirit is a daily practice. It's not a once-in-a-lifetime. It's not a Sunday thing. It's not a Wednesday thing. It's a daily thing. Sometimes it's an all-day kind of thing. All through the day, just saying, thank you, God.
Thank you, God, for this one beautiful life that you've given me. Help me see the beauty in it. Help me see the glory in it. Help me see what is right before me and learn from it and live in it.
