Biophilia is a psychological theory that was championed by Pulitzer prize-winning conservation biologist, Edward O. Wilson. He believed that our biological urges, the love of living things, plants and wildlife, and the outdoors is genetic and encoded in us. It's there to help us thrive and to flow and go with nature. That makes sense to me. He says it's more than a cultural thing. It's a biological thing that we want to be in nature, and it helps us grow. The desire was part of our biology and part of our life, because when we were hunters and gatherers, the people that survived were the ones that learned to be one with nature. They were the ones that knew the ebb and flow of nature. Those were the people that survived. Perhaps that's what God has been trying to tell us all along. He's been saying, listen, slow down, my sweet people, slow down, wake up with the sun, go down with the sun and learn to ebb and flow with nature and learn its natural biological clock.
