From the outside looking in, Frank Martin "Marty" Theer and his wife, Michelle Theer, were the perfect couple, married for 10 years. Marty was an air force pilot stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Michelle was a smart and successful psychologist. The couple had no children, but plenty of friends, co-workers and...lovers. Michelle, at least. She had a penchant for posting ads online in order to look for paramours with whom to cheat on her husband.One such man she found was another army sergeant by the name of John Diamond. John was handsome, exciting and was more than happy to assist Michelle in those sexual activities outside of her marriage. Until one night, right before Christmas, in December of 2000, Marty was found shot to death outside of Michelle's office. Police suspected both Michelle and John, and, while they had no trouble pinning the murder on John Diamond, apprehending Michelle was a little more difficult, as she would take the cops on a wild goose chase.
