Every family wants to have a safe maternal health journey, but not everyone has access to equal resources. “MEternal Mamas” Adonica Shaw and Kenya Gipson unlock some of the misconceptions and maternal health challenges in communities of color with Omari Maynard, who was featured in the Hulu documentary “Aftershock.” Maternal health complications resulted in Omari losing his partner, Shamony Gibson 13 days after the birth of their son, leaving him to be a single father and to deal with the aftermath of losing a loved one.
