In this episode i talk to Helene from Newfoundland. She has been dealing with PTSD plus other mental illnesses for more than twenty years. Listen to her tell stories of how she used to be a hairdresser and a very open person, a people person, loving her job and loving life. To someone that struggles to go outside, or can't remember the last time she has been to a theatre to see a movie because it's been that long. How she was bullied as a kid by her best friend. And spent most of her childhood living in fear. Helene also shares with us how she lost many of her beautiful animals such as her horses due to her PTSD. And how she lives with the guilt everyday.
Finally she talks about her best buddy, her service dog. She talks about how the dog entered her life and how the dog was trained to be her service animal. Helene is a strong person with a big heart.
