Description

.Yetzer Hara (Hebrew: יֵצֶר הַרַע, "evil inclination") is the innate human drive toward selfishness, desire, and disobedience to divine law, appearing in Genesis as an inherent, often animalistic, impulse. It is not a demonic force, but a necessary force for life—driving marriage, work, and ambition—that becomes destructive only when unchecked by the yetzer hatov (good inclination). It is managed by Torah study, self-control, and focusing on spiritual growth.
