Description

This episode of "Classic Stories and Fairy Tales" brings us to chapter 11 and 12 of the book titled "Cranford" by Elizabeth C. Gaskell. In chapter 11 we will see the Cranford ladies have come together to help the Browns, and they have all learned something from the experience. Miss Pole is no longer so suspicious of strangers, and Mrs. Forrester is no longer afraid of the headless ghost. The Browns have found a new home in Cranford, and they are grateful for the kindness of the ladies. In chapter 12 the narrator is investigating the possibility the Peter Jenkyns, the brother of Miss Deborah and Miss Matty Jenkyns, is the Aga Jenkyns of Chunderabaddad. Meanwhile, a more shocking piece of news arrives that Lady Glenmire and Dr. Hoggins are engaged to be married. The chapter is wrapped up with the narrator reflecting on the changes that have been taking place in Cranford.
