Throughout history, the Church has experienced persecution of her members: in the hearts of missionaries expelled from their posts and of Christians imprisoned for the crime of loyalty to God. This is no surprise because Jesus, her head, was also rejected by the chosen people. By His obedience to the Father, Jesus has shown us that humiliation and rejection is the path to glory. Let us ask the Lord to strengthen us in our Lenten journey so that we can continue walking with Him no matter the cost.
