In sending out the Twelve, Jesus points out to them the harms and dangers that they could face in their mission. They may face oppositions and rejections by their closest relations, but this should not stop them from moving on with their mission. Jesus instructs his apostles to be like sheep and simple as doves but discerning like serpents, not to be naive and gullible. He assures them that the Holy Spirit will empower them with boldness and courage, and will even supply them with words coming from the Spirit.
