LISTEN | Morning Prayer - May 19, 2023 | Friday of the Sixth Week of Easter "But I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice; and your joy no man shall take from you." - John 16:22
Goodbyes generally cause sorrow and fear. The disciples were mournful of Jesus' goodbye, but knowing their hearts, Christ assures his followers that their sorrow at his departure will only be temporary. Soon after, they will rejoice as the kingdom of God spreads across the earth. Like the first followers of Christ, it is our duty to help spread God's kingdom, knowing that all the trials and challenges we will encounter will be nothing compared to the joy that awaits us in God's presence. Join the universal Church in praying the Office of Lauds, wherever you are.
