LISTEN | Morning Prayer - July 17, 2023 | Monday in the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37–38

The strongest challenges to our faith are our very own personal relationships. We can love God along with our parents and children or be equally loyal to God, our spouses and friends. But when it will come to a point when you would have to choose between others' expectations that are contrary to the will of God, what would you choose?
Love always involves the Cross. At times, it is a cross of personal self-sacrifice and self-giving. And at other times, it’s a cross by which our love is misunderstood, and we are deemed as “unloving” by those we actually love the most. Let us pray that we may have the courage and love to embrace the Lord's Cross when this is difficult so that we will be a better instrument of the love He has for all.
