Christmas celebrates the Word becoming flesh, God pitching his tent among us. In the Gospel of John, there is no question about the divinity of Jesus or the mystery of the Incarnation. However, not everyone will accept Jesus. To accept him means, as he himself tells us, that we pick up our cross and follow him in his way. As we end the calendar year 2022, we thank God for incarnating His extravagant for us in Jesus Christ. May we constantly submit ourselves to the transformation he desires in us so that we can truly be a gift of his loving presence to those we encounter especially to the last, the least and the lost. Join the People of God in praising and thanking the Lord for all that has been, all that is and all that will be through the ancient tradition of the Office of Lauds.
