Solomon valued wisdom over material wealth and power and God was pleased with Him. God indeed blesses those who desire and seek His will. His love in us enables us to choose Him over everything and everyone else. When we are able to let go of our own will and embrace God's own, He will reward us with blessing upon blessing, grace upon grace.
