LISTEN | Morning Prayer - February 2, 2023 | Feast of the Presentation of the Lord "My eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples." - Luke 2:30-31
Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord which occurs forty days after the birth of Jesus. Though Jesus was the Son of God and himself is God, Jesus was still brought up in the faith by his parents with respect for the Law of Moses. As a sign of our welcoming Christ the Light into our lives, candles are also blessed and carried in procession in today's Liturgy. Today, the Church also celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life, founded by Pope St. John Paul II in 1997. It is a special time to pray for all consecrated men and women who offer their lives to God through prayer and service and enrich and gladden the Christian community. May more and more people hear and answer God's call to consecrate themselves to the Lord and His Church. Join the People of God in offering the universal prayer of the Church through the Office of Lauds.
