The earthly life of Jesus, the Word Incarnate, would come to an end. In a few days, we will be celebrating His ascension to heaven where He will sit at the right hand of the Father. He had spent the last years of his life preparing the disciples to go out on their own without Him, proclaiming the Good News of His Kingdom. That is why He promised to send the Holy Spirit to be our defender, consoler and friend and to remind us of His words in us.
