God's presence in us is life-giving. Joy accompanies those whose feet walk in the ways of God. Like Mary's and Elizabeth's, this joy is not easy and pain-free. As it entailed sacrifices for them, so it could also cost us. Let us not be surprised by the demands of the Gospel. But let us strive to bring God to others in season and out of season and pray that they too may experience the joy of knowing Christ our Lord.
