October 21, 1978. While flying over the waters of the treacherous Bass Strait, located between the southeast tip of the Australian mainland and the island of Tasmania, a young pilot reported strange lights orbiting over his aircraft. With no other known aircraft in the area, the plot thickens when radio contact between him and air traffic control is suddenly lost, and with it, all trace of him and his aircraft are lost forever. What happened to the young man remains a mystery to this day, and as decades have passed, neckbeards the world over have argued with each other over the internet. Did an alien spaceship shoot down the aircraft? Or could there be a more terrestrial explanation for his disappearance?
