Bill hosted the funniest person in Rochester contest over the summer and this 21 year-old comic, who came in second, impressed Bill. His name is Aamir Arshad and he asked Bill if he could come on Billified to promote a show he is producing and headlining in the Rickles Room at Comedy at the Carlson. Just like anything on Billified, this conversation becomes about more than comedy. Bill asks about growing up with parents from Pakistan, Aamir is the youngest of four children in his family and only the second born in the United States. He is an RIT drop out in a family with a doctor and software engineer and business mogul as siblings. Aamir talks about growing up "brown" in the sburbs, the difficulties navigating middle school, how humor helped and how he waited a year to tell his parents he had dropped out of RIT while living in their house!
