Rick is the Executive Director of 1in6 Canada (http://www.1in6.ca/): the National Knowledge Centre on male Sexual trauma and Recovery.
Rick's past work experience has been as a social worker, educator and program manager. He conducts training on issues of male sexual victimization across Canada and the USA as well as  facilitates a men’s trauma treatment program for men through The Men’s Project in Ottawa. Rick co-authored the Men & Healing: Theory, Research and Practice with Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (http://www.attorneygeneral.jus.gov.on.ca/inquiries/cornwall/en/report/research_papers/Party_RP/4_Men_and_Healing-Dec_24_2008.pdf) (2009), was the author for Health Canada in their investigation concerning the correlation between men's experience of HIV and sexual violence, and has since been published in Healing World Trauma (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1849059233/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1849059233&linkCode=as2&tag=wescoatrapro-20&linkId=F7MEQNEK4S6J3YH5) (2013) and Translating Psychological Research into Practice  (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/082610942X/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=082610942X&linkCode=as2&tag=wescoatrapro-20&linkId=4FA3GLM36CMH7A6V)(2013).
Rick is the inaugural recipient of the Attorney General’s Award of Distinction for his work in "developing and implementing innovative victim service programs" (2007).
