I turned 33 on July 10!
I am so grateful to have been on this earth for this long. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful life and amazing and fulfilling relationships.
As I reflect on this past year, here 7 new things I have learned and/or appreciate even more.
1. I naturally have never liked conflict and realized I probably never will. But that won't and hasn't stopped me for standing up for myself and enforcing boundaries. Doing that is a price I'm willing to pay even if I have to experience the uncomfortablity of conflict.
2. I want the people in my life to feel loved. I now pay more attention to do things that make them feel that way. I want to be kind to them as long as it doesn't compromise me.
3. Arguments can happen even with the people we love and respect most. When you accept this it welcomes authenticity and fulfillment in your relationships.
4. As I am getting older I have realized, real authentic and loving relationships is one of the most valuable thing in this world. You cannot buy it and nothing can replace it.
5. I don't ask for adversity but life threw me a lot of tough crap this year. I have been able to overcome most and continue to work on the rest. I know I am capable of handling adversity as I have done so my entire life.
6. I no longer need alcohol to have fun. Don't get me wrong it's fun within a limit and I still enjoy it. However I only occasionally use it and only reserve it for special and/or happy occasions. It's very empowering to be in environments sober that you used to be buzzed. I've got to know myself on a deeper level.
7. Stand up for yourself. It's great to have other by your side. But sometimes when you fall, you gotta get back up on your own to realize you can take care of you.
