Story Transcript:
Nl: Het was een kalme, frisse herfstdag.
En: It was a calm, fresh autumn day.
Nl: Blaadjes dwarrelden langs de ramen van het Anne Frank Huis in Amsterdam.
En: Leaves fluttered past the windows of the Anne Frank Huis in Amsterdam.
Nl: De sfeer binnen was plechtig en stil.
En: The atmosphere inside was solemn and quiet.
Nl: Lotte, Bram en Sofie liepen samen door de smalle gangpaden van het museum.
En: Lotte, Bram, and Sofie walked together through the narrow corridors of the museum.
Nl: Ze lazen de verhalen en keken naar de oude foto's die daar hingen.
En: They read the stories and looked at the old photos hanging there.
Nl: Maar Bram had iets anders aan zijn hoofd.
En: But Bram had something else on his mind.
Nl: Bram voelde in zijn jaszakken.
En: Bram felt inside his jacket pockets.
Nl: "Waar is het?"

Nl: Ze wist dat ze iets moest doen.
En: She knew she had to do something.
Nl: Ze wilde Bram helpen zonder dat hij zich nog meer zorgen maakte.
En: She wanted to help Bram without making him worry even more.
Nl: "Ik ga even naar het begin van de tour," zei Lotte nonchalant.
En: "I'll go to the beginning of the tour," Lotte said nonchalantly.
Nl: "Wacht hier."
En: "Wait here."
Nl: Zonder een antwoord af te wachten, liep ze terug door de gangen.
En: Without waiting for an answer, she walked back through the corridors.
Nl: Haar ogen scanden elk hoekje.
En: Her eyes scanned every corner.
Nl: Ze dacht aan de drukte van de dag en hoe gemakkelijk zo'n klein papiertje verloren kon raken.
En: She thought about the day's hustle and how easily such a small piece of paper could get lost.
Nl: Het museum was bijna dicht.
En: The museum was almost closing.
Nl: Tijd was krap.
En: Time was tight.
Nl: Maar Lotte gaf niet op.
En: But Lotte didn’t give up.
Nl: Bij de vitrines, naast Anne's dagboek, zag ze iets wits op de grond schitteren.
En: Near the showcases, next to Anne's diary, she saw something white gleam on the ground.
Nl: Het was Bram's brief!
En: It was Bram's letter!
Nl: Lotte voelde haar hart een sprongetje maken.
En: Lotte felt her heart leap.
Nl: Ze hoefde niet te twijfelen.
En: She didn’t hesitate.
Nl: Ze pakte het papier voorzichtig op en stopte het achter in haar broekzak.
En: She carefully picked up the paper and slipped it into the back pocket of her jeans.
Nl: Terug bij Bram en Sofie, zag ze hoe Bram nog steeds angstig rondkeek.
En: Back with Bram and Sofie, she saw how Bram was still anxiously looking around.
Nl: "Niet meer te vinden, hè?"
En: "Can't find it, can you?"
Nl: vroeg Sofie.

Nl: Ze glimlachte, trots op zichzelf maar tevreden zonder erkenning.
En: She smiled, proud of herself but content without recognition.
Nl: Later, buiten op straat, voelde Bram opnieuw in zijn tas.
En: Later, outside on the street, Bram felt inside his bag again.
Nl: Zijn ogen werden groot van verbazing toen hij de brief ontdekte.
En: His eyes grew wide with surprise when he found the letter.
Nl: "Hij was er toch!
En: "It was there after all!
Nl: Ik moet hem over het hoofd hebben gezien," zei hij opgelucht tegen Sofie.
En: I must have overlooked it," he said relieved to Sofie.
Nl: Beide vrienden haalden opgelucht adem, niet wetende dat Lotte degene was die het mysterie had opgelost.
En: Both friends sighed with relief, not knowing that Lotte was the one who had solved the mystery.
Nl: En zo liep Lotte stilletjes naast hen.
En: And so Lotte walked silently beside them.
Nl: Ze genoot van de frisse lucht en het gevoel dat ze had gekregen door iets goeds te doen voor haar broer.
En: She enjoyed the fresh air and the feeling she got from doing something good for her brother.
Nl: Soms hoefde je geen applaus om te weten dat je iets belangrijks had gedaan.
En: Sometimes you didn't need applause to know you had done something important.
