कोल्हापूरजवळच कृष्णा नदीच्या काठावर खिद्रापूर या गावात आहे ‘श्री कोप्पेश्वराचे’ देऊळ. कोपलेल्या शिवशंकराची येथे श्रीविष्णूंनी समजूत काढली म्हणून हा कोप्पेश्वर. या देवळाचा अतिशय अनोखी रचना असलेला ‘स्वर्गमंडप’ जसा पाहाण्यासारखा आहे, त्याच प्रमाणे या नागर शैलीतील देवळात आत आणि बाहेर केलेले कोरीवकाम थक्क करणारे आहे. कोल्हापूरची श्री महालक्ष्मी,नरसोबाची वाडी या स्थानांबरोबरच श्री कोप्पेश्वराचे दर्शन घ्य़ायला हवे.

On the banks of River Krishna, in Khidrapur village, there is a temple of 'Shri Koppeshwar'. Lord Vishnu had convinced an angry Lord Shiva to calm himself and hence it is known as 'Koppeshwar". The 'Swargamandap' which is a very unique design of this temple is a sight to behold, the carvings inside and outside this Nagar style temple are stunning. Kolhapur's Shree Mahalakshmi, Narsoba's Wadi along with Shree Koppeshwar should be visited.
