Devotion Transcript
00:00:00 Â Welcome to warfare prayers. The podcast where you will find guidance and strength for life's toughest battles. Here you'll be inspired and spiritually grounded through my daily devotions, discovering the power of deliverance and peace that comes from God's Word. Thank you again for listening to Daily Warfare Prayers podcast. We are in our third episode of Making the Most of our Time, because the most valuable thing you have is time. When it's gone, it is gone. We are in first Peter four seven through 11 and Peter says, but the end of all things is at hand. He's talking about time. The end of all things is at hand. And then he says, therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. Peter is talking about being sober, having discernment, being spiritually intelligent. Be serious and watchful in your prayers. Then Peter says, above all things, above all things. Have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sin. Peter is talking about being intentional in your love for others because love covers a multitude of sin.
00:01:38 Â This is how we make the most of our time. And the third thing that we want to talk about this episode is not only must you be spiritually intelligent, and not only must you have intentional love for others, but you must also. And this is our last point. You must also be impactful in doing your part. Impactful in doing your part. Listen, brothers and sisters, you have a part to play and you must be impactful in doing your part. Verse ten says this. Verse ten says, as each one has received a gift. Minister it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. So basically that is telling us to do our part as it relates to the Kingdom of God. If you are going to use the time that God gives you, he wants you to be impactful.
00:02:54 Â This simply means that if you're going to serve, serve to the glory of God. If you're going to greet, if you're going to sing, if you're going to minister. If you're going to work in different areas, if you're going to evangelize. Do it to the glory of God. This is what he means when he says. Being a good steward of the manifold grace of God in verse ten. See, God gives us grace and see it's by grace that you have gifts, that you have, talents that you have anointing, that you have abilities. It is by grace that you have land, that you have that house, that you have that car, that you have that job. Everything you have is by the grace of God. And listen, you can become impactful in whatever God has called you to do. When you accept that it's not yours in the first place. The Lord let you have these things on borrowed time. See, one day a man named John Wesley, his house burned down to the ground, and some people found him and said, John, we are sorry to tell you this, but your house just burned to the ground.
00:04:09 Â John said, that's that's impossible. They said, no, John, your house is burned. He said, that's that's impossible. They said, John, we saw it with our own eyes. He says, that's impossible. He says, you see, I don't own a house. God gave me a place to live. I only manage that house for him. He says if he didn't put that fire out, then that's his problem. He'll have to put me somewhere else to live. That man understood. That he could have something without possessing it. The house went down, but he didn't go down with the house because it wasn't his in the first place. It was the Lord's. He realized that it is the Lord that giveth and the Lord that takes away is the Lord that supplies all of our needs. See some trust in chariots and some trust in horses. But we as believers must trust in the name of the Lord. See, you can burn down my house, my car. But as long as the Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever, you cannot kill my soul.
00:05:29 Â See? Declare today, brothers and sisters, that he is the source of my strength, regardless of what happens tomorrow. He is the source of my life. He's the source of everything that I have. So I'm going to use what God gives me for his glory. I must make the most of my time because I got things that God has given me
