Description

This week, our hosts review "James" by renowned author Percival Everett. The 2024 novel is a retelling Mark Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" from the perspective of N-word Jim aka James, an enslaved man. When James learns he is to be sold and separated from his family, he flees to Jackson Island. Huck Finn, escaping his abusive father, joins him, and together they embark on a perilous journey down the Mississippi River.ย  Join us as we discuss this major literary event and its impact on twenty-first-century American literature.
