After learning her astrophysicist father, Alex (Chris Pine), is being held captive on a distant planet deep in the grip of a universe-spanning evil, Meg Murry (Storm Reid) works with her highly intelligent younger brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), her new friend and fellow student Calvin O'Keefe (Levi Miller), and three astral travelers, Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon) and Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling) to save him. The film based on the 1962 sci-fi novel by Madeleine L'Engle was directed by Ava DuVernay and written by Jennifer Lee.
