Hey Chicago! Get ready for a chilly winter weather rollercoaster!
Tonight, we're looking at a snowy overnight scene. Expect cloudy skies with temperatures holding steady around 24 degrees Fahrenheit. West southwest winds will be dancing around 10 miles per hour, with gusts up to 15 miles per hour. Snow is likely, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation and a potential light dusting of less than one inch.
Thursday brings more snow, mainly before 10 in the morning. Clouds will gradually give way to mostly sunny skies, but temperatures will drop to around 18 degrees Fahrenheit by late afternoon. Northwest winds will be blowing 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts reaching up to 25 miles per hour. Another light snowfall of less than half an inch is possible.
Thursday night turns dramatically cold - we're talking mostly clear skies and temperatures plummeting to around 3 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill values could dip as low as negative 8 degrees!
The weekend looks a bit more forgiving. Saturday will bring a surprisingly pleasant high near 36 degrees Fahrenheit, and Sunday will hover around 29 degrees Fahrenheit with mostly sunny conditions.
Next week continues the temperature dance, with Monday reaching a mild 39 degrees Fahrenheit and Tuesday bringing temperatures around 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
