Monday morning, an announcement and press conference took place at Constellium in Ravenswood. The company will be partnering with the US Department of Energy to negotiate up to $75 million in funds to replace three casting houses with newer facilities that will be low to no carbon emissions.
We hear the announcement from US Senator Joe Manchin, as well as the announcement of an additional funding from the recent minibus package passed by the Senate this passed weekend to provide more facilities for Constellium emplopyees. We also hear from Constellium CEO Jean-Marc Germain and West Virginia Department of Economic Development Secretary Mitch Carmichael on what it means for the plant and the Bend Area.
