Award winning journalist and author, Sophie Haydock. Sophie's debut Novel THE FLAMES is the story of Egon Schieie’s four muses in early 20th century Vienna, which was published by Transworld in the UK and is soon to be published in the US.
Sophie chats about:
- how she was inspired to write by an exhibition at the Courthald Gallery
- giving women from the past their voices
- the difficulties in depicting the problematic behaviour of men in a different era
- how applying for prizes (and winning the impress prize first novel award) helped her to push forward her writing of The Flames.
