Patrick opens today's show by talking about the New York Yankees hiring the first female manager in organized baseball. Rachel Balkovec has been hired to manage the low-A Tampa Tarpons. Patrick also covers the retiring of Melky Cabrera in this segment. Patrick covers his stats, issues with steroids, and what he meant to Patrick. Following that Patrick talks about Gil Hodges. Hodges had an amazing career and hit the most home runs by a right-handed hitter in history until he would be surpassed by Willie Mays. Hodges won the first three Rawlings Gold Glove awards at first base. He was arguably the best defensive first baseman in history, and definitely his time. To end today's show Patrick briefly covers Bud Selig, and how he rose to power within Major League Baseball. If you enjoyed this episode, follow us and subscribe to the show: you can find us on iTunes or on any app that carries podcasts as well as on YouTube.
