Cs: Jakub stál na Karlově mostě.
En: Jakub stood on Karlův most.
Cs: Slunce svítilo, léto bylo v plném proudu.
En: The sun was shining, summer was in full swing.
Cs: Turisté fotili sochy a umělci vystavovali obrazy.
En: Tourists were taking pictures of the statues, and artists were displaying their paintings.
Cs: Jakub měl rád ten ruch kolem.
En: Jakub loved the hustle and bustle around.
Cs: Byl to jeho únik z každodenního života v dětském domově.
En: It was his escape from everyday life in the orphanage.
Cs: Jakub se často díval na Vltavu.
En: Jakub often looked at the Vltava.
Cs: Chtěl najít svou rodinu.
En: He wanted to find his family.
Cs: V domově mu nikdo nemohl pomoci.

Cs: Mysleli jsme, že se nikdy nenajde.“

Cs: Srdce Jakubovi bušilo.
En: Jakub's heart was pounding.
Cs: „Ty jsi má teta?“ ptal se s nadějí.
En: "Are you my aunt?" he asked with hope.
