Cs: Ve velkém rodinném domě v Praze vládla teplá a příjemná atmosféra.
En: In the large family house in Praze, a warm and pleasant atmosphere prevailed.
Cs: Za velkými okny v obývacím pokoji se prohánělo spadané listí, které tančilo v podzimním větru.
En: Outside the large windows in the living room, fallen leaves were swirling, dancing in the autumn wind.
Cs: Celá rodina se sešla u krbu.
En: The whole family gathered around the fireplace.
Cs: Jana, mladá a ambiciózní, seděla na pohovce.
En: Jana, young and ambitious, sat on the sofa.
Cs: Chtěla získat rodinný respekt, ale Karel, její starší bratr, ji vždy zpochybňoval.

Cs: Povzdechla si a podívala se na Petra.
En: She sighed and looked at Petr.
Cs: Jeho povzbudivý výraz jí dodal odvahu.
En: His encouraging expression gave her courage.
Cs: "Protože je to to, co mě baví," řekla.
En: "Because it's what I enjoy," she said.
Cs: "Mám za sebou úspěchy, o kterých ani nevíš, Karle."
En: "I have achievements you don't even know about, Karle."
Cs: Karel zvedl obočí.
En: Karel raised an eyebrow.
Cs: "Opravdu?
En: "Really?
Cs: Jaké úspěchy?"
En: What achievements?"
Cs: zeptal se posměšně.
En: he asked mockingly.
Cs: Jana se narovnala a začala vyprávět o posledním projektu, který dokončila.
