Story Transcript:
En: In the midst of the snowy old town of Tallinn, where snow-covered streets and medieval towers created a magical view, Kärt was surrounded by her dreams.
En: She loved the history of the old town and was particularly captivated by the mystery of a certain legend.
En: It spoke of a mythical piece of amber that was said to grant special power.
Et: Päev enne Eesti Vabariigi aastapäeva leidis Kärt end külastamas kohalikku muuseumi.
En: The day before the Estonian Independence Day, Kärt found herself visiting the local museum.
En: She was often there, chatting with Liis, who was the curator of the establishment.
En: Kärt believed that the legendary piece of amber was right there in that museum.
En: "Liis, you know that the amber is hidden here," Kärt said quietly.
Et: Liis vaatas murelikult ringi.
En: Liis looked around worriedly.
Et: "Ma loodan, et sa eksid.
En: "I hope you're wrong.
Et: Me ei saa endale lubada sellist skandaali enne aastapäeva."
En: We can't afford such a scandal before the Independence Day."
En: Meanwhile, Mihkel, a skeptical detective who didn't really believe in fairy tales, was busy with his investigation.
Et: Kuid jälgi polnud, ainult Kärt teadis midagi muud.
En: But there were no leads; only Kärt knew something different.
En: One evening, when the museum was closed and Kärt was walking thoughtfully through the snowy streets of the old town, she recalled some details of the old legend.
Et: Ta pidi riskima.
En: She had to take a risk.
Et: Ta vajutas käega vanale seinakivi mustrile, mida keegi polnud tähele pannud.
En: She pressed her hand against a pattern on an old stone wall that no one had noticed.
Et: Kivi liikus ja avanes peidetud käik.
En: The stone moved, revealing a hidden passage.
Et: "Tõsi, nagu legendis," mõtles Kärt hingevärinal.
En: "True, just like in the legend," Kärt thought with bated breath.
En: She slipped into the passage and found herself in a dark room.
En: The walls were full of old drawings that told the story of the amber.
En: In the middle of the room was a stone slab, and within it hid the missing piece.
En: Mihkel and Liis, who had followed another clue, found Kärt and looked on in surprise at her discovery.
Et: Nad olid koos.
En: They were together.
En: Despite everything, the sea glistened extensively and on the upcoming Estonian Independence Day, the mysterious amber shone proudly in the museum.
En: Mihkel finally agreed that sometimes it’s worth paying attention to the tales of legends.
Et: Ja Kärti silmad särasid enesekindlalt.
En: And Kärt's eyes gleamed with confidence.
En: Liis now knew for sure that there was some truth in legends.
En: Snow fell heavily over the old town, but Kärt, Mihkel, and Liis felt the warm glow of achievement in their hearts.
En: The legend was alive, and Estonia's story continued with a new generation.
