Story Transcript:
Sk: Jana sedela na mäkkej tráve v záhrade Bratislavského hradu.
En: Jana sat on the soft grass in the garden of Bratislavský hrad.
En: She watched the blue rieka Dunaj as it calmly wound its way downstream.
Sk: Slnečné lúče hladili jej tvár, ale v jej vnútri hriala úplne iná zvedavosť a neistota.
En: Sunlight caressed her face, but inside, she felt a completely different curiosity and uncertainty warming her.
Sk: Po rokoch strávených v zahraničí sa jej domov zdalo cudzím, až desivým spôsobom.
En: After years spent abroad, her home felt foreign to her, in an almost frightening way.
Sk: Marek, Janin brat, rozložil deku vedľa nej.
En: Marek, Jana's brother, laid out a blanket next to her.
En: "Welcome back, sister," he smiled at her and handed her a glass of lemonade.
En: Marek had always been her support, but even with him, she felt how the growing distance had affected their relationship.
Sk: Elena, ich sesternica, už chystala košík plný tradičných chutí: šunky, syrov, čerstvého chleba a ovocia.
En: Elena, their cousin, was already preparing a basket full of traditional tastes: ham, cheeses, fresh bread, and fruit.
En: "Do you remember those times when we used to run around here and play knights?"
Sk: “ spýtala sa Elena s úsmevom.
En: Elena asked with a smile.
Sk: Pre Jana to boli spomienky z dávnych čias, snáď až z iného života.
En: For Jana, those were memories from long ago, perhaps even from another life.
Sk: Pocítila tú prázdnotu vznikajúcu medzi spomienkami a prítomnosťou.
En: She felt the emptiness arising between her memories and the present.
En: Jana tried to start a conversation, but it always ended with polite questions.
Sk: „Ako si sa mala v zahraničí?
En: "How was it abroad?"
En: Elena tried to bring the conversation back to neutral ground.
Sk: „Fajn, veľmi fajn,“ odpovedala Jana, aj keď v srdci cítila niečo iné.
En: "Fine, very fine," Jana replied, though she felt something different in her heart.
Sk: Na okamih zavládla v zámockej záhrade tichosť, kde každý z prítomných počúval jemný zvuk vetra medzi stromami.
En: For a moment, silence prevailed in the castle garden, where everyone present listened to the gentle sound of the wind among the trees.
Sk: A práve v tej chvíli Marek vytiahol starú rodinnú fotografiu.
En: And at that moment, Marek pulled out an old family photograph.
En: "You know, this day was a bit different," he began.
En: "Something went wrong with that cake you made."
En: Jana laughed tensely, but later recognized an opportunity.
En: "I remember that I was terribly disappointed that it didn't turn out well."
En: Simultaneously, she realized that her feeling of alienation wasn't entirely fair.
Sk: Vždy mala lásku svojej rodiny, len ju zakrývala tým odstupom, ktorý si sama vytvorila.
En: She had always had her family's love; she had just covered it with the distance she had created herself.
En: As they talked, she felt the tension beginning to dissipate.
Sk: Rozhodla sa pripojiť a zdieľať svoje zahmlené spomienky.
En: She decided to join in and share her foggy memories.
Sk: „Marek, Elena, myslím, že by som mala prísť častejšie domov.
En: "Marek, Elena, I think I should come home more often.
Sk: Chýbali ste mi,“ vyjadrila sa s úprimnosťou.
En: I've missed you," she expressed sincerely.
En: She felt how the bond with her family was renewing, as if old roots were beginning to sprout again.
Sk: Ponorení do rozhovorov nepozorovali, ako deň pomaly prešiel k večeru.
En: Immersed in conversations, they didn't notice how the day slowly turned to evening.
En: Jana looked at the family around her and knew that this home would never again be just a place to return to, but where her heart always belonged.
