Jesus in the gospel today brings back the institution of marriage to the way it was when God created the universe in the beginning. Moses had permitted the Israelites to have divorce. This was because of the hardness of their hearts. But Jesus returns this institution back to its initial design, i.e., it is indissoluble. What Jesus does regarding marriage, we need to do also with respect to bringing God back to every nook and cranny of the universe. There should be no space for the kingdom of the demon. There should not be any human activity that is devoid of any divine presence. We learn in the catechism that God is everywhere, right? But in practice some people have begun living as if God does not exist. So, this is our task together with the reminder St. Josemaria began to holler to the four winds of the world, that is, that God needs to be placed at the summit of all human activities. This is another way of saying that we all should strive for holiness in our specific circumstances and routines in life.
