God did not send the Redeemer immediately after the Fall of Adam and Eve. He made man wait so that he would be more convinced to need God's intervention. Because of the pride and disobedience involved in offending God in the first sin, Man would tend to be independent of God and trust in his resources. So, God left him to his own devices and let him get frustrated. So in the first reading of the Holy Mass today, we have man pleading with God to open the Heaven to rain down the Redeemer.
