St. Mark tells us today about the famous story of Jesus multiplying the five loaves of bread and two fish to feed thousands of his listeners who have been with Him for some days. He had compassion for them that He wanted to provide them something to eat. He performed this miracle. We are the face of God to the others. Our neighbors will appreciate who God is when we show them that God is taking care of them through each of us, who are better off. We can be better off not only in the financial sense, but also in terms of more talent, more time, more joy, more grace, and so forth. We can always share something with the others. And thus, we ourselves will see how God pays attention to our needs through the generosity of the others.
