This is staple in the Christian conscience. When a problem is observed or suffered by a Christian he or she strives to--at least in theory--to see what could be done about it, not by someone else--although that may be possible--but by the one who notices such problem. One tries to see that he is called by God to address the issue and to do something about it. When there is a crisis in the Church as we could see in her colored history there were people who rose to the occasion and saw and appreciated God calling them to give themselves to His--God's--plans so that the Church could be reformed. This is a basic Christian attitude that we all need to verify in ourselves. We will have to struggle in preparing ourselves for such eventuality like in developing a prayer life and cultivations of the Christian virtues. Only then will one get to pursue the call of God as seen in his detection of a problem or crisis in society and in the Church.
