St. Paul stated this title for today's homily. Jesus appoints 72 more disciples, and He assigned them to go ahead of Him to the towns He was going to pass. They were the advance team to prepare for the coming of the Lord. This continues today, with each of us appointed likewise by God by virtue of our Baptism. We thus became other Christs, even Christ Himself. Hence, St. Paul described us as ambassadors of Christ. We are such because we have the very life of Christ in us in grace. Let us be more aware and responsible in living up to this stature. We cannot shrug this off claiming that we are not up to it or we are weak or sinners, or something similar. We need to make an act of faith because we have received our baptisms and we have been constituted as other Christs. The others will learn more of Christianity through each of us, our smiles, our merciful and compassionate attitudes, etc. Will people see Christ through our deeds, our attitudes etc that copy those of Christ? Or will they only see a human being that represents some odd or strange person, unique but alien to Christian values and charity?
