It's tough to let our deepest selves be known. Are you following Jesus to gain information and to get ahead in life? Are you following Him because His words are eternal life, and without them, you’ll die? We get good at telling the truth without giving [truth] the opportunity to convict, change, and transform us. That’s how hypocrisy grows. Take the lesson from the 5 virgins: you wanna be ready for the Bridegroom when He comes. The Word is our oil. His Presence is the wick. Being together with Him, allowing His Word to come alive inside of us, is the fire.
